A plan to operate the Hellenic Post Office (ELTA) within the premises of supermarkets, known as the “shop in shop” model, appears to be currently underway.

The plan aims to reduce the operating costs of ELTA and avoid the closure of some stores in the countryside, through the sharing of spaces.

Supermarkets appear as an alternative solution to the problem created by the abolition of dozens of ELTA stores, with their Association proposing a plan for the next day, contributing to the consolidation of the subsidiary of the Superfund company.

If confirmed, this development will be of considerable interest for the next day of the Hellenic Post Office and will greatly change their character.

Social role

The goal of the new administration is for the Hellenic Post Office (ELTA) to maintain its social role and at the same time ensure its sustainability in a rapidly changing environment, while still having the largest network in the country, as the times require a new approach.
