The payment of subsidies totaling approximately 600 million euros, affecting 2.4 million citizens, begins on Monday, November 24.
Specifically, a permanent subsidy of 250 euros will be paid to more than 1.4 million pensioners, uninsured elderly people and beneficiaries of disability benefits. The amount is automatically doubled to 500 euros for couples who meet the criteria.
The aid concerns those over 65 years of age, with an annual income of up to 14,000 euros for single/widowed persons or up to 26,000 euros for married persons, and with real estate of up to 200,000 euros or 300,000 euros respectively. The age limit does not apply to pensioners with disabilities.
On Friday, November 28, approximately 1 million households will receive a rent refund for 2024. The amount is up to 800 euros, increased by 50 euros for each dependent child provided that the income and asset criteria are met.
These interventions are part of a large package of measures worth 2.5 billion euros, which will be rolled out in the coming months and will benefit over 5 million citizens. The package includes interventions that strengthen disposable income, such as new increases in wages and pensions, the gradual abolition of the personal difference, increases in uniform personnel, as well as the new framework of support for households and vulnerable groups.
