Helleniq Energy is on track to achieve its target of operating profits of 1 billion euros in 2025, said the group’s CEO Andreas Shiamishis during the presentation of the nine-month results to analysts.
Among the significant developments foreseen for the coming period is the reopening of the Thessaloniki-Skopje pipeline, through which, as Shiamishis said, the group aims not only at the Balkan market but also more broadly.
Aspropyrgos refinery shutdown for maintenance
Also, the Aspropyrgos refinery is scheduled to shut down for maintenance of the facilities in early 2026. It is noted that the investment to upgrade the Elefsis refinery was recently completed.
Referring to the recent agreement for ExxonMobil to enter the Ionian Sea offshore block 2 for hydrocarbon exploration, Shiamishis said that the US company will contribute its credibility, experience and knowledge in difficult areas.
Regarding renewable sources, the installed RES capacity is at 506 MW, while new projects of 966 MW are in a mature development stage and the target for 2028 has been upgraded to 1.5 gigawatts.
The first industrial battery park for green energy storage is under construction at the group’s facilities in Thessaloniki. The target has been upgraded to 1.5 GW in operation by 2028, with a presence in 5 countries. The group, through HELLENiQ Renewables, has acquired projects ready for construction with a total capacity of 405 MW in Romania and Bulgaria.
