The first road project in years in the Attica Basin, the Skaramangas triple junction, is now in the implementation phase, while at the same time the other projects that have been discussed from time to time to address traffic congestion have been raised again.
The Minister of Infrastructure and Transport, Christos Dimas, in the presence of the Governor of Attica, Nikos Hardalias, mayors of Western Attica and members of parliament, announced the project with a budget of 70 million euros.
The project will serve more than 130,000 vehicles per day.
Upon its completion, the Schistos – Skaramagas – Egaleo road corridor will be reopened and traffic on Kifissos Avenue will be reduced. More generally, the expectation is to improve traffic conditions and enhance road safety in one of the most congested parts of Attica.
Meanwhile, additional projects are on the table aiming to reduce traffic congestion in the capital.
