Fraport Greece is proceeding with the fourth phase of individual works at the country’s 14 regional airports, as part of the further upgrade project.
Having completed the third construction period, Fraport Greece, the management and operation entity of the 14 regional airports in Greece, will proceed to the next phase.
The works aim to enhance the already high level of runway safety and include, among others, extensive interventions to reform the lateral safety zones (Runway Strips) and the runway end safety areas (RESA).
These works are part of the Concession Agreement. They are carried out, as indicated in the announcement, under terms of sustainability and respect for each location.
The interruption of the operation of the runways is absolutely necessary, due to the size and complexity of the projects, and the planning of the works has been done so that the intervals of suspension of the runways are as short as possible.
Regulatory compliance and safety, at all levels, are key priorities of the company and are related to large-scale projects that the company is carrying out, within the framework of financing from the Recovery and Resilience Fund.
In this context, the company calls on the passenger public to take into account the scheduled periods of suspension of operations when planning their upcoming trips.
