The political and military leadership is examining the strengthening and upgrading of the Hellenic Navy Fleet.

According to sources, a Navy team visited the Italian frigate “Virginio Fasan”, the second Bergamini class that the Hellenic Navy is interested in acquiring, which was moored in the port of Piraeus.

Despite the fact that Greece and Italy have not yet signed the agreement, recent visits and meetings show that the Navy is getting closer and closer to the scenario of acquiring the two Italian FREMMs that have been at sea for fifteen years.

The visit of the Hellenic Navy team to the “Virginio Fasan” comes as a follow-up to the visit of Navy combatants and engineers that took place on September 22 at the first Italian FREMM type “Carlo Bergamini” at the Salamis Naval Station.
