Sunlight Group, a member of the Olympia Group and a technology company with integrated and innovative energy storage solutions, announced the completion and operation of a new state-of-the-art Logistics Center in Xanthi, with a total investment of 21 million euros.
According to the announcement, this strategic development aims to further optimize Sunlight’s fully integrated supply chain and strengthen its customer service in a total of 115 European and international markets. The importance of the investment is underlined by the fact that 99% of Sunlight’s production in Xanthi is exported.
As emphasized in the company’s announcement, the facilities, with a total area of 15,930 sq m, are a model of modern industrial infrastructure, combining operational autonomy, digital transformation and sustainable development and offering high speed, accuracy and resilience to the challenges of the international market. The extensive integration of digital processes aims to accelerate movement, maximize security, reduce service time by 50%, automate efficiency measurement and optimize data analysis in transport issues.
In this context, the operational excellence of the Logistics center in Xanthi is based on advanced automation, robotics, warehouse management systems (WMS) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies, providing direct benefits to Sunlight’s global supply chain.
In particular, the new facilities feature more than 21,000 heavy-duty pallet positions, supporting 1,500 kg. per position, with VNA (Very Narrow Aisle) systems and auto positioning function for maximum space utilization and movement of lifting machines with high speed and accuracy. In addition, 34 “smart” loading and unloading ramps operate, equipped with plate recording and load confirmation systems.
Sunlight’s new logistics center in Xanthi is fully integrated with the SAP EWM (S/4HANA) system, ensuring immediate visibility of inventory and shipment flow with automatic data storage in the ERP for absolute accuracy and top speed of response. In addition, the building has maximum earthquake protection and special air-conditioned zones for the safe storage of sensitive products.
