The first official reception hosted by the new United States Ambassador to Greece, Kimberly Guilfoyle, on the occasion of the 250th anniversary of the founding of the United States Marine Corps, was attended by the Minister of Maritime Affairs and Insular Policy Vasilis Kikilias.

The event was held in view of the upcoming presentation of Guilfoyle’s credentials to the President of the Republic.

“I wholeheartedly wish her a good start to her term, which is poised to become a major success,” the Minister said in a post. It is noted that during his recent visit to the US, Kikilias had underlined Greece’s strategic goal of leveraging the international strength of Greek-owned shipping in combination with energy, seeking agreements for US investments in ports, shipyards and energy infrastructure in the country.
