Posidonia 2026 has once again reaffirmed its status as a global benchmark event for the maritime industry.

In this context, Gibraltar’s Minister for Maritime Affairs, Gemma Arias-Vasquez, spoke to Naftemporiki about the significance of the exhibition and the contribution of Posidonia to the global shipping sector.

“Posidonia attracts an ever-growing number of participants each time it is held,” she noted, emphasizing the importance of the event’s continued expansion and international reach.

She also highlighted the significance of the strong presence of ports from around the world, including the Port of Gibraltar. “The Greek shipping community is exceptionally important to the industry,” she stated.

On his part, John Ghio, CEO and Captain of the Gibraltar Port Authority, underscored the importance of Greek shipping to the global maritime sector.
