Piraeus Chamber of Commerce and Industry recorded a highly successful presence at the networking event connecting talented Greeks living and working in the United Kingdom with businesses in Greece.
The event was held in London as part of the “Rebrain Greece” initiative of the Ministry of Labour and Social Security, attended by the ministry’s leadership and representatives of the Greek Embassy.
During the one-day event, more than 220 scheduled meetings took place at the Chamber’s pavilion between Greek professionals, graduates, and students interested in the participating companies. In addition, 60 further unscheduled meetings were held with executives working in the United Kingdom who expressed strong interest in exploring career opportunities with Greek companies and returning to Greece.
More than 3,000 students, graduates, professionals, business executives, and employees living in the UK attended the special exhibition overall.
Labour and Social Security Minister Niki Kerameus informed participants about the tax and other incentives available for their return to Greece, while noting that the balance between those returning and those leaving the country is now positive (20,000 people annually).
A total of 35 business groups participated in the event, representing a broad range of sectors, including construction and engineering projects, technology and artificial intelligence, research and development (R&D), information technology, industry and manufacturing, financial and banking services, energy, insurance, legal services, shipping and shipyards, consulting, telecommunications, media and communications, tourism and hospitality, pharmaceuticals, and the healthcare sector.
Vassilis Korkidis, President of the Piraeus Chamber of Commerce and Industry, expressed satisfaction with the Chamber’s highly positive participation in the event, emphasizing that the Chamber, in cooperation with the Ministry of Labour, should further strengthen the connection between Greeks abroad and Greek entrepreneurship through successful initiatives such as “Rebrain Greece.”
He also stressed that the Chamber consistently invests in the professions of the future and in shaping a modern, people-centered working environment aimed at attracting talented Greeks from abroad and linking them with Greek businesses.
“In the effort to develop Greek entrepreneurship and strengthen the competitiveness of our economy, we must invest in the return of our young people — something they themselves also desire, as confirmed by the high attendance recorded at the event,” he noted.
