The management of Papoutsanis S.A. maintains its outlook for double-digit revenue growth and further profitability improvement in 2026.
The company’s turnover amounted to 16.5 million euros, remaining close to last year’s levels with a marginal decrease of 1%, while exports accounted for 55% of total sales. Gross profit stood at 5.5 million euros, compared to 5.8 million, with the gross profit margin at 33.5% versus 34.9% in the corresponding period of 2025. EBITDA reached 2.1 million euros, compared to 2.3 million, while net profit after tax totaled 1.1 million, down 6% from 1.2 million in Q1 2025.
The branded products segment recorded strong growth of 21% compared to Q1 2025. Sales in the Home Care category increased by 46%, while Personal Care products continued their upward trajectory, posting an 8% increase over the same period. In the hotel products segment, overall performance was impacted by reduced activity in third-party production, with the category declining by 19% year-on-year. Sales in the third-party manufacturing segment decreased by 3% compared to Q1 2025, a trend expected to reverse later in the year, as it is linked to the gradual onboarding of clients to new product codes and the timing of the full implementation of these changes. Soap base sales declined by 12%, primarily due to the product mix of the items sold, although positive momentum is anticipated for the remainder of the year.
Outlook and Targets
The company noted that the achievement of its targets is influenced by developments in the broader macroeconomic and geopolitical environment. These developments are already affecting energy, transportation, and raw material costs, and, in the event of further escalation, may impact raw material availability, consumer purchasing power, overall demand, and tourism. The extent of these effects will largely depend on the duration and intensity of such developments.
Under the current conditions, Papoutsanis aims to further penetrate the Home Care segment with new product launches and to expand its Personal Care product portfolio. In the hotel products segment, the company highlights that strong foundations have been established for the expansion of exports of its branded hotel products into new markets. In third-party soap base production, Papoutsanis is pursuing the expansion of its client base, the further development of its product range for these clients, and the growth of synthetic soap bases.
The branded Papoutsanis product pillar remains a strategic priority and is expected to sustain its strong growth momentum in 2026, supported by increased exports. The hotel products segment is projected to remain at 2025 levels, as international developments and instability in the Middle East may affect initially positive forecasts for domestic tourism. The company also emphasized that it continues to actively strengthen its long-standing partnerships with key international clients. Finally, the third-party production and specialty soap base segments are expected to maintain their growth trajectory.
