The Hellenic Federation of Enterprises (SEV) and the French-Hellenic Chamber of Commerce and Industry will organize the Greek-French Economic Forum, on Saturday, April 25, during the official visit of the President of the French Republic, Emmanuel Macron, to Athens.
The Forum, entitled “Together for a stronger, more competitive Europe” to be held at the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center, will bring together leading Greek and French business executives and institutional stakeholders, with the aim of identifying specific areas of cooperation and accelerating joint investment and industrial initiatives. At the same time, it will contribute at the highest level to the European dialogue on competitiveness and the European Union’s strategic autonomy.
In a period of heightened geopolitical uncertainty, SEV and the French-Hellenic Chamber assume an active role in fostering cross-border and business collaboration in sectors critical to Europe’s industrial autonomy. Discussions will focus on strengthening European competitiveness and productivity across three key thematic pillars.
First, the energy transition and its relation with European industrial competitiveness, security of supply, and Greece’s positioning as a regional energy hub. Second, the development of sovereign technologies (including artificial intelligence and data centers), the financing of innovation, and the connection between research and production. Third, the reinforcement of the defence industrial and technological base, technology transfer, and the further advancement of Greek-French partnerships aimed at addressing regional challenges.
The event will be opened by the Ministers of Economy and Finance of the two countries, Kyriakos Pierrakakis and Roland Lescure, and will conclude with remarks by the Prime Minister of the Hellenic Republic, Kyriakos Mitsotakis, and the President of the French Republic, Emmanuel Macron.
On the French side, participants will include, among others, Gérard Mestrallet (Special Envoy of the President of France for the India–Middle East–Europe Economic Corridor – IMEC), Pierre-Eric Pommellet (Chairman & CEO, Naval Group), Stéphane Boujnah (Chairman & CEO, Euronext), Bruno Bensasson (CEO, Akuo), Thierry Déau (Founder & CEO, Meridiam), and Pierre-Arthur Lestrade (Vice President Europe, EDF Power Solutions).
On the Greek side, participants will include Evangelos Mytilineos (Executive Chairman, Metlen Energy & Metals), Christian Hadjiminas (Founder & CEO, Theon International), Marcel Cobuz (Chairman of the Executive Committee, TITAN Cement International), Andreas Athanasopoulos (CEO, Olympia Group), Giannis Loumakis (CEO, UniSystems), and Alexandros Benos (Chief Financial Officer, Cenergy Holdings).
The event is held under the auspices of the Ministry of National Economy and Finance and the Embassy of France in Greece.
