Japan’s TSUNEISHI SHIPBUILDING Co. announced the delivery of the world’s first LNG dual-fuelled Kamsarmax vessel, built for Global Chartering, a joint venture between ArcelorMittal and DryLog of Peter Livanos.

The vessel is equipped with a dual-fuel main engine capable of operating on liquefied natural gas (LNG), significantly reducing CO₂, SOx and NOx emissions compared to conventional fuels.

In addition, thanks to its optimized hull design and the integration of energy-saving technologies, such as a shaft generator, it achieves a reduction of more than 50% in the Energy Efficiency Design Index (EEDI), substantially exceeding Phase 3 requirements.

A further notable technological milestone is the in-house construction of the Type C LNG fuel tank at the company’s facilities, paving the way for future ammonia-ready applications.
