The average occupancy rate in hotels in mountain winter destinations for the twenty-day period from December 20 to January 10 has reached 75% nationwide, according to the Secretary General of the Panhellenic Hoteliers Federation and head of the Federation’s Mountain Hotels Group, Angelos Kallias.

In view of the usual last-minute bookings until December 15, there is optimism that last year’s performance will be exceeded.

However, there is also information from “N” about a halt in bookings over the last days in some areas due to the agricultural mobilizations.

In the majority of the most popular mountain-winter destinations in both Northern Greece and the entire country, occupancy rates for Christmas are already very high, sometimes reaching even 100%.

More specifically, occupancy rates are over 80% in Arachova, 85% in Metsovo, 75% in Pelion, over 90% in Ioannina, 90% in Kalavryta, 95% in Karpenisi, Kalambaka and Meteora, almost 100% in Trikala as well as in Florina, Edessa, Kastoria and mountainous Imathia.
