Greece’s Independent Authority for Public Revenue (AADE) inaugurated its fourth myPoint taxpayer service centre, with the facility set to officially open to the public on Friday, July 16.

The new service centre is located on the ground floor of the Piraeus Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

The inauguration ceremony was led by AADE Governor George Pitsilis and attended by Deputy Finance Minister Dimitris Markopoulos, Piraeus Mayor Yiannis Moralis and the Piraeus Chamber President Vassilis Korkidis, highlighting cooperation between the central government, local authorities and the business community.

Pitsilis: Digital transformation with a human touch

In his address, AADE Governor George Pitsilis outlined the philosophy behind the new myPoint concept, describing it as a fundamental shift in the way taxpayers are served.

He said the new centre occupies a prime location near the port of Piraeus and the city’s electric railway station, in premises provided by the Piraeus Chamber of Commerce and Industry on the ground floor of its headquarters.

The aim is to provide more efficient taxpayer services by combining digital tools with in-person assistance. The centre offers a new customer experience, guiding visitors from the moment they enter until they complete their visit. The new model combines “AADE’s digital transformation with the value of human interaction,” demonstrating that digitalisation is designed to serve citizens.

Pitsilis said the new service “welcomes citizens” when they arrive, showing that it “cares about and is interested in resolving their issue,” rather than leaving them to figure out where to go, what to do or whom to approach.
