C3is adds two MR tankers in its fleet

The agreement concerns the purchase of a 2008-built tanker for 16.88 million dollars and a 2011-built tanker for 22.90 million dollars

C3is Inc., owned by Haris Vafias, is further strengthening its fleet, announcing the signing of memoranda of agreement for the acquisition of two medium-range (MR) tankers, for a total consideration of 39.8 million dollars.

The agreement concerns the purchase of a 2008-built tanker for 16.88 million dollars and a 2011-built tanker for 22.90 million dollars. Both vessels have a capacity of approximately 50,000 deadweight tons and their delivery is expected between the first and third quarters of 2026.

Upon completion of the acquisitions, C3is’ fleet will increase by 50%, totaling six vessels. Specifically, it will include three Handysize dry cargo vessels and three tankers, including one Aframax and two MRs.

The ships will be acquired by a company affiliated with Brave Maritime Corp.
