Greek Alternate Finance Minister Giorgos Chouliarakis on Thursday denied that his government’s closely scrutinized 2019 draft budget includes “two alternate scenarios”, ostensibly to allow it to choose which it will follow and implement.
Speaking before a relevant Parliament committee, Chouliarakis said the draft budget denotes only one scenario, “and this is the government’s intent: an expansionary fiscal policy for next year”.
He also referred to a fiscal space of one billion euros that will be distributed evenly towards “targeted actions”.
