Lease prices across Greece increased by 8.4 percent over the recent period, compared with 2017, a RE/MAX Greece study claimed this week, with the multinational realtor firm saying available residential properties are continuing to decrease in tandem with an ever-increasing “AirBnB” phenomenon observed in central Athens and Thessaloniki, as well as popular tourist sites.
For Attica prefecture (the greater Athens area), the rent/lease increase is given as 6.9 percent by the company; 14.4 percent for greater Thessaloniki, and 7.1 percent in regional Greece. Double-digit increases in rent prices were given for a handful of regional cities.
