Increase in Greek ATM charges for inter-bank withdrawals

Inter-bank withdrawals of cash from ATMs became much more expensive in Greece as of Monday, with bank officials in the country pointing to an additional incentive to use debit cards.

The charge for withdrawals of cash from an ATM of another bank will reach as high as three euros per transaction.

No surcharge will be added for transactions from an ATM where a customer retains a deposit.
