Tax authority: Nearly 437K uninsured vehicles detected in Greece

Nearly 437,000 uninsured vehicles were detected in Greece by the independent public revenues authority, a figure greater than originally forecast in a country of roughly 11 million residents.

Unless a fine is paid within two months and an insurance policy purchased, then the particulars of the owners of the vehicles will be conveyed to authorities.

If an uninsured vehicle is then stopped on the road, police will take its license plates.
