Super market turnover fell by 7.2 percent in the first two months of 2016, although analysts pointed to prospects of better results for the second half of the year, if compared with the same period in 2015, when the political and economic situation in Greece was rife with uncertainty.

According to figures published by the IRI market research group, January’s turnover was 6 percent down from the corresponding month in 2015, and 8.3 percent for February.

According to IRI managing director Panagiotis Boretos, in statements to “N”, the negative trend is expected for March 2016 as well.
