Greece’s industrial import prices rise 13.3% in May

The increase was driven mainly by higher international prices for crude oil extraction and petroleum refining products

Greece’s industrial import price index rose 13.3% in May compared to a year earlier, reversing a 4.2% decline recorded in the same month of 2025, data released by the Hellenic Statistical Authority (ELSTAT) showed.

The increase was driven mainly by higher international prices for crude oil extraction and petroleum refining products.

Import prices from countries outside the euro zone increased by 22.2% year-on-year, while prices for imports from eurozone countries rose 2.2%, ELSTAT said.

On a monthly basis, the overall industrial import price index fell 5.0% in May compared with April, following a 0.7% decline recorded in the corresponding month of 2025.
