Eurosatory 2026, the world’s leading land and air-land defense exhibition, concluded in Paris after five days of presentations, business meetings and high-level industry participation, bringing together defense companies, military delegations and technology manufacturers from across the globe.

The exhibition hosted 2,032 exhibitors from 61 countries, 334 official delegations representing 93 nations, 43,000 trade visitors and 42 national pavilions, making the 2026 event the largest in Eurosatory’s history. Participants demonstrated the latest developments in land warfare, air defense, autonomous systems, digitalization and military mobility, while the exhibition also served as a platform for international industrial cooperation.

Greek defense industry in the spotlight

Greek defense companies recorded one of their most active appearances, presenting drones, electronic systems, armored vehicle programs and advanced defense technologies, while holding meetings with international partners and potential customers. Industrial cooperation emerged as a central theme, with companies increasingly pursuing joint ventures and production agreements aimed at accelerating capability development and strengthening supply chains.

Industry executives highlighted two key questions that dominated discussions throughout the exhibition: whether Europe can expand its defense industrial base rapidly enough to achieve genuine strategic autonomy through industrial partnerships and joint procurement, and whether it can achieve full software-driven interoperability by treating artificial intelligence as an immediate operational necessity rather than a future concept.

The growing role of smaller defense technology firms and specialized manufacturers was also evident, as many attracted significant international interest alongside major industry players. Against this backdrop, the participation of Greek companies underscored the expanding international footprint of Greece’s defense sector and its increasing integration into European defense supply chains.

Strategic agreements and partnerships

THEON International announced the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding with Safran Electronics & Defense to establish a joint venture focused on the design, development and commercialization of electro-optical and infrared systems for unmanned aerial vehicles. The partnership will leverage the complementary strengths of both companies to develop next-generation optronics solutions, including lightweight stabilized gimbal systems weighing less than eight kilograms, addressing growing demand for ISR and targeting capabilities in defense and security markets.

METLEN and KNDS jointly presented the VBCI PHILOCTETES, the modern French 8×8 infantry fighting vehicle, during a dedicated event held at the KNDS pavilion. The presentation was attended by senior representatives of the French armed forces, international media and stakeholders from the European and global defense ecosystem. The joint showcase highlighted METLEN’s role as a reliable industrial partner in strategic European defense programs, supported by the capabilities of its M Technologies Hub in Volos.

Greek company ALTUS LSA, in cooperation with MBDA, unveiled the KERVEROS UAV in an armed configuration equipped with two AKERON MP anti-tank guided missiles. Based on ALTUS’ ATLAS 8 platform, the system has already been tested in military exercises in Greece. The collaboration focuses on the development of integrated unmanned combat aerial vehicle solutions combining high payload capacity with advanced missile systems.

Meanwhile, a new contract between EODH and KNDS was signed during a ceremony at the Greek company’s exhibition stand, marking the launch of a strategic partnership focused initially on the production of the successful 8×8 BOXER armored vehicles. The agreement builds on the long-standing cooperation between the two companies.

Strong Greek participation

Fourteen companies participated in the Greek National Pavilion, including DEFEA, B&T Composites, Lykomitros Steel, Datascouting, Hellenic Defence Systems, Hellas Sat, ALTUS LSA, AKMON, ICOMAT, ELMON, Satways, Miltech, Realiscape and Variene AI.

In addition to the national pavilion, SIAMIDIS, EODH, THEON SENSORS, SCYTALYS, NAMFI – NATO Missile Firing Installation and INTRACOM DEFENSE also exhibited independently, while METLEN took part through its joint event with KNDS.
