Greece remains one of the most popular destinations for Danes, with interest increasingly focused on sustainable authentic Greek destinations and the undiscovered experiences they offer.

This was confirmed during the international tourism exhibition Ferie for alle/Danish Travel Show 2026, which was successfully held at the MCH Messecenter in Herning, Denmark from February 20 to February 22. The Greek National Tourist Organization participated with a 60 m2 stand, attracting a large number of visitors.

According to the organizers, approximately 1,100 exhibitors participated in the exhibition, while visitors exceeded 54,500.

Among the participating destinations were Spain, Portugal, Cyprus, Egypt, etc., while among the agents were Spies A/S, Sunweb, Primo Tours, Århus Charter, Bravo Tours, Neckermann Nordic, etc., with the majority of which the Scandinavian Office collaborates.

The visitors were not only interested in well-known Greek destinations but also in areas that are not widely spread, confirming the Danes’ tendency for unexplored experiences that combine authenticity, sustainability, special forms of tourism and mainly outdoor activities (cycling, hiking tourism).

The promotion of new destinations and tourist products through the GNTO’s communication strategy is consistent with the profile of Danish tourists, who prefer authentic gastronomic experiences, local products, culture and contact with the local community.
