Referring in a post on platform X to the situation unfolding in the Persian Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz, Minister of Maritime Affairs and Insular Policy Vassilis Kikilias stressed that the Greek authorities remain on constant alert.
The minister stated:
“The Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Insular Policy is continuously monitoring developments in the Persian Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz. The Operations Center is in constant communication with companies operating Greek-flagged vessels in the area, providing guidance and recommendations and updating the shipping community on developments. We are at heightened operational readiness and are doing everything required to ensure the maximum possible protection of Greek shipping and Greek seafarers.”
