Leading Greek shipowners including George Prokopiou, Dr. Nikos Tsakos and Haris Vafias will take the floor during the proceedings of the conference.

Agenda

A wide discussion will be held on the critical decisions that the shipping industry is called to take in the coming years.

Critical issues related to international maritime trade, green transition, shipbuilding, geopolitical developments, banking lending, digital transformation and artificial intelligence will be developed.

More specifically, the panel of shipowners includes:

George Prokopiou, ship owner, founder of Dynacom Tankers, Sea Traders and Dynagas companies,

Dr. Nikos Tsakos, founder, President and CEO of Tsakos Energy Navigation (TEN) Limited

Haris Vafias, founder of StealthGas, Imperial Petroleum, C3iS.

Phaedon Tomazos, co-founder and Managing Director of Cass Technava, will coordinate the panel.

The discussion will focus on issues of interest of the shipowners, such as new shipbuilding options in relation to upcoming climate change measures, the wider regulatory framework, trends in international markets and how these affect charter markets.

The shipping sector is required to adapt to a highly regulated environment following natural disasters, which leads to increased costs.

The 8th Naftemporiki conference is expected to attract the interest of market representatives and other officials as influential personalities of the maritime community will also intervene in the other panels.
