Veteran Greek director Koundouros passes away

Noted Greek film director Nikos Koundouros died on Wednesday in Athens at the age of 90.

Koundouros was best known for his 1956 feature-length movie “Drakos” (Monster), a landmark “film noir” in Greek cinema. He directed several other films and documentaries up until the late 2011.

Ηe had been hospitalized over the recent period with respiratory problems.
