October 2016 revenue figures add to ‘cushion’ in terms of annual target

By G. Kouros

A positive result in terms of state revenues is forecast by the finance ministry for October 2016, which if proved correct will mean that targets continue to be met and exceeded over the 10-month period of the year.

Exceeding targets also means that the government will have a “cushion” in case the last two months of the year, November and December 2016, fail to meet the monthly revenue targets.

Specifically, based on preliminary figures collected by the general secretariat for public revenues, revenues in October reached 4.7 billion euros, 23.37 percent higher than the target of 3.9 billion euros.

Over the 10-month period, revenues exceeded the target by 6.16 percent, reaching 39.99 billion euros. The provisioned goal was 37.7 billion euros.
