A moderate earthquake measuring 5.4 on the Richter scale was reported southwest of the harbor town of Pylos on Monday morning. Few details were available as yet, although the tremor was reportedly centred in a sea region 28 kilometers from the southern Greece mainland
The quake was recorded at 8:14 a.m. (06.14 GMT).
Another mild earthquake, measuring 4.2 on the Richter scale, was recorded at 11.21 a.m. near the northern city of Thessaloniki.
The quake’s epicenter was pinpointed at 32 kilometers east-northeast of the city, and at a depth of 4.5 kilometer.
