Helleniq Energy is one step closer to deciding whether or not to conduct exploratory drilling for hydrocarbons in the Ionian and Block 10 offshore areas.
This follows yesterday’s announcement by the Hellenic Hydrocarbons and Energy Resources Management Company (HEREMA) pointing out that the company informed about the conclusion of the first phase for the two marine plots and submitted to the Hellenic Hydrocarbons and Energy Resources Management Company (HEREMA) a request to start the second phase of the survey which will last three years (i.e. until July 2026) and will include the acquisition and processing of 3D seismic data (900 sq. km for the “Ionio” block and 400 sq. km for the “Block 10”), geological work and environmental studies for the “Ionio” block and petrophysical and geophysical analysis for “Block 10”.
It is worth noting that Helleniq Energy, in collaboration with the international marine geophysical survey company PGS, successfully completed the 3D geophysical surveys on the two marine plots last January, which allows it to enter directly into the phase of examing and evaluating the geophysical data that supplies.
