Greece rolls out new ATM cash withdrawal fees on Monday, a measure introduced by the Ministry of National Economy and Finance.

As of today, all Greek citizens can make withdrawals without any commission. At the same time, a national maximum charge limit (cap) of 1.50 euros is being established for withdrawals made from third-party ATMs.

In more detail, the regulation of the Ministry of Finance provides for:

-No commissions for cash withdrawals between all banks participating in the DIAS interbank system

-Abolition of charges from third-party providers when there is a direct or indirect share connection with the customer’s bank

-No charges from third-party providers in municipal communities where only one ATM operates

-A ceiling of 1.50 euros for withdrawals from ATMs of third-party payment service providers throughout the country

-Free balance inquiry for all cardholders, regardless of bank or ATM provider

-A single charge of 0.50 euros for money transfers via digital channels (web, mobile, internet banking) from third-party providers, at par with the charges of banks

-Legislative guarantee that no bank can charge its customers for cash withdrawals.
