Main event: Conference "Bulgaria Meets the Euro"

Focusing on its historic path towards the Eurozone and strengthening cooperation with Greece, Bulgaria will participate with a dynamic presence in the 89th Thessaloniki International Fair (6-14 September 2025).

Bulgaria’s participation is organized by the Bulgarian-Hellenic Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BHCCI) and the Green Transition Forum, under the auspices of the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, marking a new era in bilateral economic relations.

Main event: Conference “Bulgaria Meets the Euro”

On Sunday, September 7 (10:30 – 12:15), at Pavilion 16 of the TIF, a conference will be organized on the topic: “Bulgaria Meets the Euro”, which is expected to attract the interest of the political and business leadership of Greece and Bulgaria.

The event will be attended by:

  • Ministers and high-ranking officials of the governments of the two countries
  • The administrations of the Central Banks of Greece and Bulgaria
  • Leading technocrats and opinion leaders from the business and academic world.

The aim of the conference is to open the dialogue on:

  • Bulgaria’s accession to the euro from January 1, 2026,
  • the strategic interconnections between Greece and Bulgaria in transport and infrastructure,
  • the investment prospects and collaborations in critical sectors,
  • and the energy transition within the framework of the new European projects. A message of cooperation and a common European path.

Bulgaria’s participation in the 89th TIF coincides with the country’s accession to the Eurozone from January 1, 2026, and in this context, emphasis will be placed on economic convergence and the leading role that Greece and Bulgaria can play in Southeastern Europe.
