Consumers seem to prefer “blue” color electricity products offering fixed prices, according to data available to “N”, while products marked with “green” and “yellow” colors, offering fluctuating prices, lost ground by the end of April.
According to market representatives, the trend is expected to continue in the coming months, especially if indications of new extreme fluctuations in the wholesale electricity market are confirmed.
According to sources, the market share of blue tariffs has reached 20%, i.e. around 1,150,000 customers, from 800,265 at the end of 2024. Green tariffs continue to lead the market, but are on a decline, with their share limited to 70% from 72%, i.e. 4.1 out of 4.3 million consumers.
During the transition to the color-based pricing system, almost the entire consumer base (the vast majority of household consumers) switched to green tariffs, with the majority remaining unchanged in the two years that have passed since the entry into force of this model.
Yellow tariffs continue to shrink, with the relevant figures speaking of 590,000 consumers at the end of April, down from 836,838 at the end of 2024.
In comments to “N”, the numbers confirm once again the market’s shift towards fixed pricing, a fact that is also reflected in the competition between companies.
