Athens stock exchange: The top 10 blue chips, with returns of up to 12% in April

INTIME

In the group of blue chips, which stood out in April, we could add four more listed companies

Τhe Athens Stock Exchange stands at the highest levels of the last 13 years, amid a generalized buying euphoria, which is also reflected in the performance of more and more blue chips (and not only).

Double-digit increase

In April, Eurobank achieved a return of more than 10%, climbing close to 2 euros, for the first time since November 2015, and increasing its market value to 7.5 billion euros. Therefore it consolidated its presence in the first place among the most valuable banks and in the second place among the most valuable listed companies on the Athens stock exchange.

The course of Jumbo was also excellent, which rose  9.5%, reaching the historical highs of 28 euros and enhancing its capitalization close to 4 billion euros. Titan Cement’s share followed closely, continuing its strong rally in 2024. Thus, in 2024, it added an additional +8.5% to its value, which is now estimated at 2.2 billion euros or else at 29 euros/share.

Historical highs

Cenergy’s stock is at an all-time high with its market value reaching 1.5 billion euros. Also, OTE rose 6.5% in April, with the upside remaining high, given the consistent underperformance of the previous months.

Another leading company on the Athens stock exchange is Mytilineos, which has returned to 38 euros, recording an increase of 6% during the month. And let’s not forget, on the one hand, the confirmation of the scenarios for an imminent listing on the London Stock Exchange, on the other hand, the highly satisfactory figures of the first quarter of 2024.

In the group of blue chips, which stood out in April, we could add four more listed companies. These are Lamda Development, which returned to around 7 euros/share, Quest, which recovered to 6 euros/share, Sarantis, which continued the great rally of 2024 (over +40%), and Coca-Cola, which managed to cross the threshold of 30 euros/share.
