Optima Bank approves plan for listing on ASE

Optima Bank currently operates a nation-wide network of 27 branches.

Optima Bank is to be the first bank to be listed on the Athens Stock Exchange in 17 years.

An Optima Bank extraordinary general shareholders’ meeting approved a board plan for the listing of the bank’s shares in the main market of the Athens Stock Exchange. In an announcement, Optima Bank said his declsion is a landmark in the bank’s history and at the same time a starting point for the next day. Optima Bank currently operates a nation-wide network of 27 branches. In its 3.5 years of operation it has more than 2.3 billion euros in deposits and has a offered funding of more than 1.8 billion.

It will be the first bank to be listed on the Athens Stock Exchange in 17 years, a move which it is unboudtedly a vote of confidence to the Greek economy and its outlook.

George Taniskidis, the bank’s chairman, commenting on the general shareholders’ decision said that this strategic decision will be implemented in the way the bank operates up to date. With a plan, consistency and respect to our clients, workers and mostly to its current and future shareholders.
