Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis is starting a fifteen-day “sprint” as he has stressed that there is no time to waste. Special emphasis is placed on the economic field, but also on a series of reforms in critical sectors (health, education, justice, modernization of the state).
“We must be a government of hard work and measurable results” is the message sent. The swearing-in of the cabinet was held on Tuesday and today the ministers will receive the blue envelopes with the priorities and the schedule.
The government has a busy schedule over the next two weeks, including the prime minister’s two important trips in Brussels for the EU Summit and in Vilnius for the NATO Summit. In the capital of Lithuania, Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis is expected to meet Turkey’s President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
In particular, the most critical “stations” of the next fifteen days are the following:
– The new cabinet meets on Wednesday and the prime minister will stress the need to implement a series of changes immediately. In the afternoon the prime minister will visit the Finance Ministry while similar visits will be made to other ministries over the next few days.
– On Thursday and Friday, the prime minister will be in Brussels for the European Council, where the issue of migration is also on the agenda.
– On Monday the new Parliament will be sworn in and the goal is to have two key bills passed by the Thessaloniki International Fair (TIF) in September.
– On July 7-9, the government will present the priorities of the next four years in detail.
– On July 11-12, Kyriakos Mitsotakis will be in Lithuania for the NATO Summit.
