Turkish-flagged tourist cruiser sinks off Leipsoi isle

A Turkish-flagged cruiser sank on Tuesday afternoon off the small northern Docadense isle of Leipsoi, with all passengers aboard unharmed.

The vessel, identified as the “Sunflower”, was sailing south of the rock islet of Koulouras when it hit a reef. The five foreign nationals aboard were first picked up by a nearby Turkish freighter, and then transported by a Greek coast guard patrol board to Leipsoi.
