The latest NOME-type auction this week – the last for 2018 – witnessed a record-breaking price for blocks of future electricity production, topping off at 54.74 euros per MWh/h.
The price was the highest offered since this type of electricity auction was inaugurated in Greece, exceeding by 5.94 euros the previous highest price (48.8 euros per MWh/h).
A total of 683 MWh/h in future power production was auctioned off at Wednesday process, with market analysts saying the record-breaking price was due to expectations that counter-incentives will be placed by state regulators for the export of acquired electricity.
