Main opposition New Democracy (ND) leader Kyriakos Mitsotakis again pointed to a couple of major privatizations and investments in the recession-battered country that continue to face legal and bureaucratic obstacles, promising that if elected prime minister whatever obstructions will be immediately removed.
The pro-reform and pro-business Mitsotakis referred to the Skouries gold mine concession in northern Greece and the Helleniko land development project in coastal southeast Athens, in an interview carried by Bloomberg.
In terms the Helleniko project, he said it symbolizes a “new Athens”, while promising that pending licenses for the mining operation in northern Greece – the biggest industrial FDI in the country – will be issued within the first month of a ND government.
