Greek state arrears to private sector reach 1.974 bln€ in July 2018

The Greek state allocated – on paper – 922.6 million euros to cover arrears to the private sector in August 2018, although final payments paid out by general government entities only reached 185.4 million euros.

Based on finance ministry figures, although the 200 million euros were allocated in August to cover newly approved pensions, only 66.2 million was disbursed.

Over the same month, the total figure for arrears owed by the state to the private sector increased to 1.974 billion euros, up from 1.940 billion euros in July 2018.
