Appellate council of justices to decide if Olympiacos owner to face match-fixing trial

An appellate level prosecutor on Friday recommended that shipowner Vangelis Marinakis, the owner of the popular Olympiacos Piraeus football team, face felony charges of match-fixing and a misdemeanor charge of forming a criminal enterprise.

Following a Supreme Court in the same case involving another three felony charges, an appellate council of justices will not have th last say on whether Marinakis and another 27 co-defendants will face a trial.

Marinakis is also the co-owner of Nottingham Forest FC,
