Power outtages were reported in several parts of the greater Athens area early Wednesday afternoon, while line 2 of the Athens metro was also out of service.
No official statements had been made as of 14.30 (local time). Many of greater Athens’ upwards of four million residents are still away for the summer holidays, and many businesses remain closed.
