Firefighters on Sunday continued to battle a resurgent wildfire on the small but eponymos islet of Elafonissos, just off the extreme southeast Peloponnese. The wildfire had almost reached the Panaghia settlement over the weekend, with an evacuation ordered, along with a nearby camping grounds.
A large contingent of firefighters, as well as fire engines and aircraft were combating the blaze.
