Street violence in central Athens over draft bill on placing legal restrictions on protests

Street violence erupted in central Athens, around the Parliament building in Syntagma square, after roughly 100 mostly youthful protesters began lobbing firebombs and other missiles at assembled riot police, on the occasion of three separate demonstrations against a draft bill placing restrictions on demonstrations.

A vote was later in the evening, with the bill expected to pass with the government majority.
