Tsipras complains of lack of progress in refugee relocations to Europe

Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras on Monday, speaking from Istanbul, said progress in legally relocating thousands of Mideast refugees throughout Europe has been “extremely” sluggish.

Tsipras was in the Bosporus metropolis for a UN summit on the humanitarian crisis.

The Greek leader complained that certain European countries have not taken up any of the burden from the refugee flows – most of which stream through Turkey.

He said that less than 1,000 legitimate refugees have been relocated from Greece to other European countries, despite a previous commitment of tens of thousands.
