Parliament ratifies bill that includes provision for same sex couple to become foster parents

A draft law on adoption and foster care was passed by a Parliament majority on Wednesday, as debate attracted scrutiny due to an article allowing same sex couples in a civil partnership union to become foster parents to minors.

Out of 264 deputies present for the vote in the 300-MP Parliament, the specific article (VIII) was approved by 161 MPs to 103 against.
