Reprivatized Neorion shipyard on Syros reports full capacity; prospect of 120 vessels handled in 2019

A recently re-privatized shipyard on the Cyclades island of Syros is reporting a full repair capacity at present, with nine vessels currently at the Neorion facilities, and with 72 vessels having undergone repairs and maintenance since US-based Onex assumed management in early 2019.

The initial target for 2019 is to service more than 100 vessels, with the prospect of more than 120 vessels now appearing as attainable.

According to the new Neorion management, a new floating dock has been ordered to handle increased demand.
