Pentagon official: Greece among countries where F-35 sales possible

The US is examining the prospect of selling the Lockheed Martin’s 5th generation F-35 to Greece, a top Pentagon official told members of a US Congressional committee on Thursday, a statement that comes days after US Vice-President Mike Pence essentially delivered an ultimatum to Turkey over deliveries of the fighter plane.

According to a dispatch by Reuters, which referred to written testimony submitted to the US House of Representatives and seen by Reuters, Vice-Adm. Mathias Winter – said “future potential Foreign Military Sales customers include Singapore, Greece, Romania, Spain and Poland.”

Washington has threatened to cancel deliveries of the F-35 to Turkey if it proceeds with a contract to purchase and operate the Russian-made S-400 anti-aircraft missile system.
