Tsipras in Bucharest for Bulgaria-Greece-Romania-Serbia summit

Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras on Friday referred to a “model of cooperation” for the wider SE Europe region in referring to the recently implemented Prespa agreement, in statements in Bucharest, during a joint press conference with his host, Romanian PM Viorica Dăncilă.

Speaking ahead of the 7th four-country summit of Greece, Romania, Bulgaria and Serbia, Tsipras said his government and Bucharest support the Euro-Atlantic accession prospects of North Macedonia, as well as other Balkan countries, such as Albania.

Turkish Vice-President Fuat Oktay is also due to participate in the sessions.

Cross-border transport networks connecting the four countries are reportedly the focus of the summit, while the “quartet” of countries are also interested in submitting a joint bid to host the Euro 2028 football tournament.
