The Port Environmental Review System (PERS) certification from the European Sea Ports Organization (ESPO) was renewed for the fourth time by the Port Authority of Volos, confirming its firm commitment to sustainable and responsible environmental management.
The new certificate was delivered to the Managing Director Socrates Anagnostou during the ESPO General Assembly in Brussels and will be valid until May 2027.
The assessment was carried out by the internationally recognized organization Lloyd’s Register, while the port of Volos maintains an active role in the EcoPorts network, which unites over 100 ports from 25 countries.
Anagnostou expressed his satisfaction with the organization’s consistency in environmental protection issues, emphasizing that a project is underway that will cover 100% of the port’s energy needs through photovoltaic net metering systems.
